Repeat Prescriptions for Dispensary (out of town patients) and Reception (living within the town)
Repeat prescriptions can be ordered for both departments:
- In person at reception/dispensary
- By post
- By email at [email protected](please be aware that normal email is not secure.)
- With SystmOnline via this link. Click here for more information
We do not take repeat prescription requests over the telephone because of the risk of errors.
Please give 48 hours notice in both departments.
If you have any queries regarding your repeat prescription please phone 01507 522477 (reception) or 01507 522666 (dispensary).
Should you require medicines urgently (within the 48 hours) please contact the relevant department who will be able to assist accordingly, dependent upon the circumstances.
For non-dispensing patients we can arrange for your prescription to be available for collection from Boots the Local Pharmacy or Co-op Pharmacy (in Horncastle), alternatively you can collect your prescription from the surgery and take to a chemist of your choice.
The dispensary is open from Monday to Friday 08:30 – 18:30.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor or a nurse practitioner at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions
Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).
The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
